Cozy atmosphere and delicious home style food. Can't beat the price for a quality meal. Big, gorgeous fire in the fireplace.
We stopped here on our way from southwestern Ohio to my son's in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The food was delicious. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. Felicia was a friendly, attentive, and kind server! I will be going back to Cracker Barrel. Thank You!
I hate to leave such a bad review as I love Cracker Barrels, just no this one in particular. I have tried the Mt. Airy Cracker Barrel numerous times and it just isn't that good. I had order grilled chicken tenders and luckily I cut them open instead of eating them with my hands because they were RAW. I could not find my waitress so I found a manager who apologized and said he would bring me more. Once I received the next order they were burnt.. The service and quality just isn't as good as the other Cracker Barrels I have been to
We were so hungry, we forgot to take a picture until most of the damage was done! Definitely our favorite place for breakfast! Everyone working here is so friendly and kind. The food may not be the healthiest fare in town, but it is good and consistent. I love the large menu which offers a huge variety of good old-fashioned comfort food. The serving temps are always on point, even for the kiddos. They must have a secret warming shelf for the little ones foods! Take-our is often our choice for an evening meal so that all can enjoy something chosen for their own palette with the same great variety of choices. Clean restrooms with an awesome purse shelf strategically located for each person are appreciated so much. Just be sure to close your carrier securely! I have to try to stay away from all the lovely items in the country store. The seasonal items are hard to resist. Clothing that I have purchased is good quality and lasts well. Gift items are plentiful and perfect for last minute needs.
Service is sort of hit or miss at this location. I have always enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel whenever we go out of town, but the Mt. Airy location lacks something to be desired. Sure, the "store" part is great and fun to browse in whenever visiting but the food isn't that great. The first time I ate there, my bread didn't arrive until I had already ate my meal, even after begging 3 different times for it. The second time, my eggs, bacon, grits and hashbrowns were lukewarm. The Mt. Airy location really needs to step up their game because I certainly don't like paying that much for a meal for it to be cold by the time it arrives at my table!!
